Justice for victims
We would be failing our members if we did not campaign to ensure lessons were learned from their tragedies and for the risk of road use to be reduced. We campaign to ensure road death and injury receive a proper response by the justice system and are not treated as mere unfortunate ‘accidents’.
Please note that this section of our website is devoted to our policies and efforts to improve the post crash response by the criminal and civil justice sectors. If you have been bereaved or injured in a crash and need information on the legal procedures, please see our Support for victims section.
Our Access to Justice section is organised into six main areas:
1. Collision investigation
2. Inquests and coroners
3. Criminal prosecution
4. Civil compensation
5. Road crash victims' rights
6. Criminal justice research and statistics
Collision investigation
Inquests and coroners and coroner reform
Criminal prosecution
